Pricing wise, I think Profit Tools is in line with their pricing compared to others out there that I have looked at. Their customer service is also very good. They have people there to handle any situation, people that have actually been dispatchers before, so they better understand the needs of the trucking company. I believe the system works great within our operation. It is fully customizable to each customer, something other companies won’t even attempt.

We use Profit Tools, pricing is good compared to other packages. I’m not thrilled with time we are spend on entries, don’t have anything to compare with. PT customer service is good.

We are using Profit Tools, the system works well with our operations, customer service is a little weak, and cost is constant with other software companies (expensive).

Profit Tools is still our dispatch software and we are extremely pleased with our choice. Our dispatchers are happy with the ease of assigning and terminating dispatches. They have tailored the dispatch screens to fit our needs. The billing and settlements are easy as well once the accounting functions are applied. Their customer service is professional and quick to respond to any of our needs. Price-wise we feel they are moderately priced but the savings for us came in the ability to track and reduce our per diem costs through a much thorough tracking process.

We’ve been using Profit Tools for a little over a year now. We compared them and CSC when we were looking invest and found Profit Tools to be much more user friendly and economical. It was such a drastic change to our operations that we’re just now comfortable with it. I would say it is a very good program and we have a had a positive experience with their customer service. Since we purchased it, I believe that CSC was bought out by someone else, not sure who. A company that we had spoken to during our search that was using CSC has since switched over to Profit Tools. The only complaint that I’d have right now is in regards to EDI. We only use EDI with one customer, and it has not gone very well. There are some areas in which Profit Tools hasn’t quite come through in my opinion. For instance, our customer's system allows for two fields to populate with pick up/delivery times in order to accommodate appointment windows. PT only has one window available. This was causing EDI transmissions from our system to change appointments in their system, causing it to appear as though we were late for appointments, etc. etc. PT still hasn’t really come up with a good solution to the problem. I’m not sure if the EDI experience will be better with any other customers, but this experience has made me very hesitant to pursue. My only other concern is that PT will only operate using a Windows Server. Our old system used a Linux Server, which I’ve been told is much more secure than a Windows Server. We haven’t had any problems related to this, but it’s still a concern as we’re now 100% computer based. If the server shuts down, we’re out of business. We use interface with @Roads for our mobile communications. It utilizes our existing Nextel two-way radios, a much much cheaper option than say installing Qualcomm. It’s worked pretty well from a pure dispatch standpoint. Orders are sent and received well and drivers are able to plug in status events through a fairly simple process. However I’m not very satisfied with their GPS capabilities. Also, I can’t get any real driver or tractor data. Often the GPS on certain drivers is disabled so I cannot pull up their history.

We are currently running on Profit Tools, we started working with it back in September and so far it is ok. Our previous software that we were running on was Trinium. You have your ups and downs to both programs but for the most part if you run company trucks or using quick books for your accounting than Profit Tools might be the one for you, Profit Tools tailored a special dispatch board for us which was very helpful. However, Trinium was preferred in our office by dispatch, payroll etc. but it did not work well with quick books.

We use Profit Tools and are very happy with their product and customer service. We do not consider their pricing too high as it allowed us to improve our overall dispatch operations and increase our ability to handle many more containers without a equal increase in personnel. We feel they offer a great product at an affordable price and they back up what they offer.

We have been using profit tools for more than a year now. We are very happy with the program. It is user friendly and the program is designed in a way it makes a lot of sense. We have become more efficient in our dispatching, customer service and accounting. In addition, it is easy to keep up to date our driver and equipment database. All in the same program.I'm not very familiar with the other two programs. However, I understand that Trinium is more cumbersome to use and learn, no to mention expensive. The pricing for Profit tools is very reasonable even for a small company like ours. The customer service profit tools provides is the best. The technical people provide quality service and they are very accessible.Overall we are very satisfied with our decision to purchase profit tools.

We use TMW it is very powerful, lot of work on front end. We have integrated it with a lot though. Such as Onbase for imaging. We will be far ahead of curve when we are complete. I could talk about this at nausim, I think is the future.

I have been with Profit Tools for 9 years now and I am happy. However it is the only one that I have used. Their prices are a lot higher now than in 1999 but I think they are fair. Customer service is good as long as you need it during East Coast time. (6am – 3pm on the West)

I do have Profit Tools but unfortunately I cannot give you any idea of how it works . I have been trying to set this up for the last 7 months and have not had time to do it as of yet. I hope to get on line with it by the end of the year.

We just started using Profit Tools this year and absolutely love it. I have seen a few different software systems and we investigated many before making our final decision and found them to be the best out there to fit our needs. We started training with Profit Tools in April and have been going full force since May. The price was a little high, but in the first few months it had already shown a drastic improvement in our customer service and per diem areas. In the long run the price was good compared to the services the system offered us. Profit Tools has constant upgrades and releases with improvements to the system that have proved to be very useful. They are very quick to answer questions and set up training as needed for various tools.

We have been using it since 1996 and would not be able to run our business (intermodal or any other aspect) if we did not have it. There is a ton of functionality available that we have not even tapped yet. The customers service is terrific and more importantly, they are very thorough with training an set up, which is the most important aspect of these ERP programs. I believe the pricing is competitive and definitely a value considering all that comes with the software.

We use Profit Tools. I’m very pleased with the program as a whole- however, we are currently using perhaps half of its capabilities and as such it is very expensive. I purchased it with the notion of future growth and that it would be the only software we would ever need for dispatch, settlements, tracking/tracing, and a boatload of other stuff. While this I believe is still the case, in the short term it is a costly program. In the long term it will be more valuable to us as we grow and use more of it and thus a much better deal. Their customer service is good – but not cheap. Their tech’s know their stuff to be sure and are skilled in all the areas that I’ve had dealings with them in. In short, In my opinion, it’s a great program, no doubt about it – if you can afford it! Is it competitively priced? Probably so. Is it worth it? I believe it is.

We currently use Profit Tools, It does a good job. I don't like the settlements portion of it, but settlements are always a complicated issue. And P&L reports are also impossible to get out of it. It's able to track and trace everything, goes to steel roads and updates for you....we don't use it--didn't want to pay for it.Before we signed up with Profit Tools, Trinium was the other guys I really liked but they cost more than Profit Tools and I found Profit Tools to interface better with quick books (my accounting software). The customer service at PT is really good, the guys are a nice group to work with. overall I am happy with it.

I have Profit Tool. I really do not have anything to compare it with. It works well for us. Profit Tools customer service seem pretty responsive. They do call back right away if we do have an issue. I think their prices are reasonable from what I can see. I just went back and looked and I have been using since 9/2004. So in 4 years I think everything has went very well.

We use Profit Tools and it seems to work well. I have no experience with others so I can’t compare it to anything cost wise. It can be expensive to add additional modules as time goes on.

My only experience with dispatch software was with profit tools. I find this software has alot of great features for an individual smaller company. The problems I encountered using this system where; it was very difficult to clear orders out of the system once they where completed. And there was no training manual for profit tools to train current or new employees. Most of the function I learned where from other employees or by accident. And it was very expensive to have a trainer come out to for a day to train your employees. I would make sure profit tools has a really good training tutorial available at no extra cost.

Yes, we still use Profit Tools. The system works well - lots of text fields & flexibility in the program - there are some features we don't use, and there are neat features I keep discovering. Customer service is good. Pricing isn't extremely high but isn't exactly low either - somewhere in between.

Yes, we’re still using Profit Tools. We also looked at Trinium, which probably would have worked OK, too. Among other things, the deciding factor was the sales rep from Profit Tools. He kept us informed, answered our questions, stayed in touch, but did not pressure us. All the programs I looked at seemed awfully pricey to me. I knew that they weren’t really out of line, though, because we had tried to develop a system of our own several years ago, and it would have cost us an arm and a leg. We’ve been pleased with Profit Tools. The only feature that gave us problems was the driver settlement package. We still haven’t made the switch to let Profit Tools do our driver pay yet, but expect to take the plunge in the next few months. There were some problems involving the way we pay drivers the fuel surcharge vs. the way PT handles the task. We pay whatever rate each customer pays us, but PT calculates one standard rate across all loads. Customer service has been excellent. We often call when we’re stuck, and we always reach a knowledgeable person right away. They haven’t nickel-and-dimed us with charges, either. They rarely bill us for the small stuff. We use their Track and Trace module, too, to track our inbound loads. This meets our needs, mostly, although there are some things we still use Steelroads and the Norfolk Southern website to do. It was a big step for us to switch from the card system to Profit Tools, but I don’t think any of us regrets the decision. Sure, we have days when we curse the program and computers in general, but those days are rare. I hope this information helps.

We use both Profit Tools and AS400. Profit Tools: They have made a huge improvement of what their system can do. They have created a lot of new EDI invoicing and customer notifications via email. AS400: This is set up more for the accounting aspect of trucking rather than Intermodal dispatch.

I have not had any experience with Trinium or TMW so couldn’t help you there. I think Profit Tools is a decent program and their customer service is at least average, and probably somewhat above. I have no idea what their current pricing is, but annual support with upgrades is not outrageous. The program is definitely designed for intermodal dispatch from the ground up, where as many others I have seen are standard trucking software updated with an “intermodal module”. We were able to get access to their database tables and now have automatic downloading into MS Dynamics Great Plaines Accounting software at the line item level. The customer service department has always been pretty reliable with a return call/email within 24 hrs. They seem to always take note on suggestions from us regarding their program, not saying those suggestions are 100% implemented, but at least they listen with an open ear and offer alternative solutions. Their main accounting download is with QuickBooks and from my understanding they are very good with the support linking those two programs

We are using Profit Tools Seems to work fairly well but do have some problems with dropping and picking equipment as well as multiple stop loads. The customer sevice is excellent but the pricing is a bit steep. After the intitial purchase we are paying a maintenance of over 2500.00 per year for upgrades with only 3 dispatch station.

I only have certain parts of the Profit Tools program due to costs. Not sure if they are high or not on the price. They are comparable on price for the other programs I called. I purchased a basic program and love everything it has to offer. I do plan on upgrading the package here in the near future.

We use Profit Tools and before I purchased the system, I reviewed most of the other major brands. The Profit Tools product is far superior to other systems in functionality and most importantly, customer service. Regular updates are sent reflecting changes that we request and we also benefit from ours peers requests. Coming from a MIS background, it is the best system out on the market for an Intermodal company.

Currently we are using Profit Tools for Trucking. It’s the only dispatch system I have ever used. It’s very user friendly and easy to navigate. In our system with 15 drivers it’s easy to manage. There is flexibility with profit tools to create your own dash board, at a cost of course. It can be tailored to meet the specific needs of a trucking company. Pricing is controlled at a different location. Customer service is good. You are assigned a contact and they utilize “go to meetings” so they can work the screens with you. All in all I am happy with it.
