Omnitracs XRS posted 9-Dec-19 85 drivers |
Like: Their longevity and experience.
Dislike: App based program leaving the carrier to figure out a lot of related solutions relating to hardware and accompanying software. |
Teletrac posted 3-Jul-19 12 drivers |
EASE OF USE FOR DRIVERS IS THE ONLY POSITIVE. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL AND THEY OFFER NEXT TO NO ON-SITE SUPPORT WITH HARDWARE ISSUES. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. |
Samsara posted 20-Mar-18 5 drivers |
Samsara. By far the best out there!!! |
Samsara posted 15-Dec-17 5 drivers |
Easy to start, software is great. |
Samsara posted 3-Nov-17 3 drivers |
Samsara and Bigroad - We have owner operators and our drivers have the choice of using either of these two ELD. Both work just fine and are easy to use. |
Rand McNally posted 28-Oct-17 30 drivers |
We are running Rand McNally. We wanted a system that does not use a smart phone or tablet. Also wanted truck routes and mapping. Rand McNally offers both.
We tried telematics and we had many issues with devices communicating with our Mack trucks. Very unhappy. Glad we moved to Rand McNally |
KeepTruckin posted 27-Oct-17 1 drivers |
Could use better reporting but like the FREE option |
PeopleNet posted 26-Oct-17 26 drivers |
Yes we are running ELD and have been 100 percent ELD compliant since 2010 with People net. |
Omnitracs XRS posted 26-Oct-17 17 drivers |
We have been using OmniTracs since July 2014. It has been great for us. |
Teletrac posted 26-Oct-17 84 drivers |
We don’t really like anything about them. The did a really bad job with the installations and caused electrical problems with the trucks. The GPS doesn’t work well and they are not practical or user-friendly. |
JJ Keller posted 24-Oct-17 23 drivers |
We went with JJ Keller cause we know they are not going anywhere. I started this in the early months of 2016, so we are done and all is good. They have been receptive when we needed help, have done seminars for us/our drivers and they respond quickly. The dislike is they have glitches on different devices (we have owner operators so they all use their own device) and they are working on them and getting better each update. We feel they are a strategic partner. |
KeepTruckin posted 20-Sep-17 24 drivers |
• Driver Friendly, Easy to Navigate
• More cost effective than Rand McNally
• Good customer service and support (any small tampering issues resolved quickly) |
Geotab posted 19-Sep-17 45 drivers |
Easy to use, good reporting, great support staff. |
Omnitracs XRS posted 19-Sep-17 50 drivers |
The tablet is easy use for the driver and installation is easy. The website has too many glitches when the push thur an update. |
Geotab posted 18-Sep-17 50 drivers |
we like Geotab so far, was on Xata before that. |
Omnitracs XRS posted 18-Sep-17 65 drivers |
It does what we need it to for a reasonable price but we seem to replace the units too often. A handful of them broke by their two year mark. |
Omnitracs XRS posted 18-Sep-17 140 drivers |
ELD – Omnitracs/Xata XRS
Dispatch driver interface – Disc Mobile
Con – doesn’t integrate with Xata or at least we have not paired them |
KeepTruckin posted 18-Sep-17 15 drivers |
No Hardware Costs and Fair rate |
JJ Keller posted 18-Sep-17 40 drivers |
3/14/24 changed from Profit Tools to Trucker Zoom per Janet |
KeepTruckin posted 18-Sep-17 30 drivers |
Initially, we chose because it synched with our dispatch software. We have since found another solution but continue to use Omnitracs for our ELD. We are beginning to look at other options. |
Rand McNally posted 17-Sep-17 25 drivers |
works very well, gps is very good. No real complaints |
KeepTruckin posted 17-Sep-17 45 drivers |
They are great + have make good updates in the brief time they are around. |
Omnitracs XRS posted 17-Sep-17 212 drivers |
Been around for a while. Understand the business. Good software to view violations. Works in truck even when cellular connection doesn’t work. |
none posted 17-Sep-17 1 drivers |
As an owner-operator, I'm still using paper log. I will switch in Dec. |
Omnitracs XRS posted 16-Sep-17 60 drivers |
Likes
Able to be used on a commercially available tablet
API interface
Minimal integration time in the truck
Dislikes
Driver interface is to complicated for the average driver
A number of bugs in the software |
none posted 16-Sep-17 60 drivers |
ELD mandate N/A because majority of trips within 100 mile radius |
PeopleNet posted 15-Sep-17 56 drivers |
They are great. Easy website use and very responsive |
BigRoad posted 15-Sep-17 32 drivers |
Drivers are stating that they are user friendly and they like that it allows them to use yard move in the ports not to cut into their times. Dislikes are the same they don’t want to use them at all however it has been conveyed it is for safety precautions to prevent any accidents from being fatigued. |
Omnitracs XRS posted 15-Sep-17 15 drivers |
No opinion as we just started, but so far so good. Have not heard any issues. |
Rand McNally posted 15-Sep-17 15 drivers |
I’m not familiar with it but drivers like it |
Geotab posted 15-Sep-17 45 drivers |
As a “local/regional” intermodal hauler it was very difficult to find providers understanding the “local exemption” and willing to write their software to accommodate the exemptions and HOS sets. Geotab was excellent in this area. Also the installation is very easy. The ability to send the “hard copy” of a log is very easy. |
Geotab posted 15-Sep-17 338 drivers |
ELD’s – Pegasus Transtech. Best performance for the money in our analysis. This runs on the Geotab platform and will interface with our TMS (which is TMW TruckMate) |
Omnitracs XRS posted 15-Sep-17 5 drivers |
I have been with XRS for 2 ½ years, no complaints. |
Omnitracs XRS posted 15-Sep-17 350 drivers |
All our trucks use XRS. It is costly per unit |
E-Road posted 15-Sep-17 25 drivers |
works great & user friendly |
KeepTruckin posted 15-Sep-17 85 drivers |
we’re testing KeepTruckin right now. They have a really nice, modern user interface for both drivers and back office that is very intuitive. |
E-Road posted 15-Sep-17 112 drivers |
The only thing we don't like about EROAD is the 3 year contract. Anything with a contract that goes beyond a year is questionable in case there are problems.
What we like is that it's a plugged in device. It's always on the dash and does not require any extra time on the driver. Blue tooth/phones/tablet solutions are all very time consuming to log into the device after you get the truck running. If the phone battery dies, or is low..you have problems. You have to rely heavily on the driver's own personal equipment and that would be a huge drawback. With Eroad, its a plugged in device so that totally eliminates all of those issues. It also does IFTA reporting for you. |
JJ Keller posted 15-Sep-17 75 drivers |
we were already using them for driver compliance so it was a smooth transition to add this. Also the other programs I looked at did things like put driver violations for out of hours in red for the cops. We want them to work for it not point it out. Cost factor as well, some were more costly and then we would have to get licenses to merge their programs with Keller. |
KeepTruckin posted 15-Sep-17 18 drivers |
ELDs will come from KeepTruckin. They are partnered with AscendTMS. |
PeopleNet posted 15-Sep-17 19 drivers |
Like
Up to date on ABOARD and ELD requirements and multiple features such as integration with Profit Tools, ALK maps, automatic IFTA, vehicle performance reports
Dislike
Equipment is expensive and we will be “forced” to upgrade display interfaces by 2019 due to ELD requirements |
E-Road posted 15-Sep-17 12 drivers |
I like almost everything about it, except it does not have a Pre-Trip portion built in. |
Geotab posted 15-Sep-17 0 drivers |
Easy to use |
JJ Keller posted 15-Sep-17 0 drivers |
IT WILL INTEGRATE SEEMLESSLY WITH OUR CURRENT JJ KELLER DRIVER MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE AND PRICING WAS FAVORABLE. |
Geotab posted 15-Sep-17 110 drivers |
Most modern design; usable on our Tablet application; excellent reports; notifications of potential violations by email and a variety of other value added items. |
Omnitracs XRS posted 15-Sep-17 151 drivers |
Implementing since February 2017. Love the cost and features of ELD - Doesn’t integrate well with TMW TruckMate Intermodal Dispatch. ELD functionality works well. (We chose to go with XRS as we run over 350 Contractors and 20 company units. These were less evasive on the trucks and required no modification to the trucks.) |
Geotab posted 15-Sep-17 20 drivers |
Seamless integration with our existing TMS and driver hardware. The ELD is contained in the drivers smart phone device. |
Zonar posted 15-Sep-17 355 drivers |
We have worked with them the past several years in developing the ELD software. We have been on ELDs for almost 5 years. |
Samsara posted 15-Sep-17 95 drivers |
Geotab has been very dedicated to helping our trainer understand the software and with all the training & compliance letters needed. Their program is user friendly and very easy to use. They have been extremely helpful and reactive to any request we have and they work in conjunction to our Trucking software Profit Tools. |
KeepTruckin posted 15-Sep-17 15 drivers |
We just signed up with them, ELD not activated but devices installed for GPS and truck data for now. However hasn’t been long enough to really give a genuine opinion on like/dislike. |
Geotab posted 15-Sep-17 17 drivers |
Dislike that it switches driver statuses incorrectly. Driver could be off duty taking a break and will switch back to on duty or drive even if driver isn’t moving |
KeepTruckin posted 15-Sep-17 30 drivers |
We haven’t ran into any issues. So far we like everything about it. It’s very easy for the drivers to use and it gives dispatch great information and updates on the drivers. |
Rand McNally posted 15-Sep-17 5 drivers |
WEBSITE FUNCTIONS ARE VERY USER FRIENDLY. DISLIKE MESSAGE SYSTEM. |
KeepTruckin posted 15-Sep-17 0 drivers |
we are using Keep Trucking ELD, Great System. We used the Rand for a while, had many issues with them, to numerous to mention. |
Rand McNally posted 15-Sep-17 35 drivers |
We’ve only been using them for a while so no real opinion yet. |
Omnitracs XRS posted 15-Sep-17 220 drivers |
Like – One cable install, low cost of start up (they provide hardware), easy to use platform
Dislike – does not have dedicated cell signal so you have to piggyback on a tablet or cell phone – this works well 95% of the time – but sometimes creates some challenges. |
Omnitracs XRS posted 15-Sep-17 100 drivers |
I like absolutely nothing about them. We had no choice but to use them. [Corporate] made the decision for us Agents. |
Omnitracs XRS posted 15-Sep-17 15 drivers |
I like ELD but hate the HOS rules. Do away with the 10 hour break and the 30 min break. |
Transflo posted 15-Sep-17 5 drivers |
Reporting seems accurate and easy to use. No issues at this point. |
Teletrac posted 15-Sep-17 0 drivers |
Had Omnitracs for the last 3 years, but switched Teletracs |
none posted 15-Sep-17 16 drivers |
ELD Solutions – Cannot comment. Drayage operations will not use ELD as they are exempt. |
Motive ELD posted 15-Sep-17 60 drivers |
likes- website and tracking is great, reports are alright. Dislikes- customer service is poor and installs take too long to set up and do |
Samsara posted 15-Sep-17 35 drivers |
So far pleased |
KeepTruckin posted 15-Sep-17 130 drivers |
4-2-18 ELD We have tested a few and none that we’ve tested seem to work well. We have just begun to test Keep Truckin. It is early in the testing phase buy so far this one seems to work better than the others. Certainly from the drivers perspective |
JJ Keller posted 15-Sep-17 14 drivers |
Likes: Ease of use and great customer support
Dislikes: Connectivity issues with BYOD – Our drivers were using their smart phones to log their HOS and kept having Bluetooth interruptions with the app. This mostly occurred when they made a call or played music on their phone. We remedied this by requiring all drivers to have a dedicated tablet (Android or iOS). |
KeepTruckin posted 15-Sep-17 6 drivers |
User friendly – we’re still in the install & training phase of the project. I’m sure we’ll identify ‘dislikes’ once ELD’s are fully implemented |
Geotab posted 15-Sep-17 42 drivers |
TOO SOON TO TELL
(PROS THUS FAR: TRACKING OF VEHICLES/FREIGHT
SNAP SHOT OF DRIVERS DRIVING HABBITS, SPEED ALERTS, SAFETY. |
Samsara posted 15-Sep-17 100 drivers |
Very affordable and easy to use. We just started with them so there will be more to tell down the road probably. |
KeepTruckin posted 15-Sep-17 45 drivers |
We went with JJ Keller ELD’s initially but were not satisfied with the product. We just changed over to Keep On Trucking ELD’s... We are still in the install process |
KeepTruckin posted 15-Sep-17 15 drivers |
I use KEEPTRUCKIN for my ELD. It works pretty well. The drivers access it off their cell phones and it is a once a year fee. I really have not been using it long enough to say what I like or dislike about it. I do like the fact that it has a GPS and I know exactly where my trucks are all the time. |
Omnitracs XRS posted 15-Sep-17 50 drivers |
Don’t know much about them yet |
Omnitracs XRS posted 15-Sep-17 160 drivers |
It’s user friendly for the driver and fleet managers. Innovative. Keeps real time tracking of our drivers, equipment and loads. Helps us manage our assets so we can be as service oriented as possible to our customer base. |
E-Road posted 14-Sep-17 13 drivers |
local office is in Tualatin, Oregon and headquarters is in Auckland, New Zealand. Ongoing issues with the ELD’s not being accurate. I understand from my contacts that other vendors are having similar issues. I attribute this to the Obama administration dragging their feet on the deadlines to provide required specifications for the units and these delays worked against the industry. While I fully support the ELD concept I feel it is in no way “ready for prime time” on December 18, 2017. |
